SPIRITUAL ALIGNMENT

Aligning yourself spiritually is certainly a process. To me, it means matching who you are with who you want to be; and being spiritually aligned is the "secret sauce" (quote Tricia Rose Stone) to creating and attracting great things. It means becoming connected with the higher intelligence and allowing it to lead. When you're spiritually aligned, happiness is a natural state of mind and, more and more, you:

Radiate joy.

Feel optimistic.

Trust in the process.

Have faith in your unique skills, passion, and imagination.

Let go of your ego.

Know when to rest.

Are grateful for what you have.

Notice the beauty around you.

Find people who are kind and genuine.

Listen to your intuition.

Are of service to others.

Eat better, exercise, and do self-care.

Get great ideas when you're in the shower or on your walks.

Start seeing the same numbers or hearing the same songs.

Become confident in yourself and what you provide.

Are no longer waiting for life to happen ... you are creating the life of your dreams.

Spiritual alignment exists in the present moment. If you dwell on the past or obsess about the future, you lose it. One of my teachers, Eckhart Tolle, said, "When the basis for your actions is inner alignment with the present moment, your actions become empowered by the intelligence of life itself."

Take a moment to reflect on these two sayings:

"We don't see things as THEY are ... we see them as WE are." (Anais Nin)

"When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change." (Wayne Dyer)

It's all about "perspective." When you change your perspective, you open the door to real personal growth. Perception is not just about what's in front of us ... it's also about what's inside of us. When we're calm and focused, our awareness becomes sharper and things feel clearer, more meaningful. But when we're distracted or overwhelmed, our perception becomes clouded and we might misinterpret a situation or miss something important. Even the words we use to describe our experiences are important perspectives ... calling something an opportunity versus calling it a problem.

To become spiritually aligned takes dedication, work, and discipline. Here are a few steps to follow:

  • Take time for self reflection by way of meditation, deep breathing, or quiet moments. Become aware of your deeper thoughts and feelings. Define your core values, boundaries, and what truly makes you happy.

  • Know your "ego triggers." You are constantly being triggered by your environment and the people around you. Those energies and emotions seep into your energetic vibration and pull you out of alignment through fear and emotional overwhelm. Draw boundaries!

  • Tune into your intuition (SOUL) ... the subtle voice that can lead you to the right path.

  • Practice gratitude.

  • Be of service. Serving others brings joy and a deeper sense of connection.

  • Be present. Accept the current moment and let go of resistance to what is.

  • Be gentle to yourself. Acknowledge that everyone's journey is unique, and give yourself the same compassion and understanding that you give to others.

  • Trust the process. Release the need for control and trust in divine guidance. Have faith that God will deliver what you need.

Spiritual alignment takes time and effort. Some days you'll feel "tuned in" and some days you'll feel way off track. So when that happens, stop for a moment ... take deep breaths and reflect. The simple act of pausing for a moment will help steer you back into realignment with your spiritual self. And the more you do this, the easier it will be!
